Van Deadlocks

Proper security is very important for any van, for a whole host of different reasons.

Just one of the optional features that we offer for our vans, is the installation of van deadlocks in order to maximise how secure your van is, and to make it significantly more difficult for anyone to break into your vehicle when it’s left parked overnight, or over the course of a job.

Essentially, van deadlocks serve as an additional mechanical security feature for your van, and they work by fitting a locking mechanism to the door of your van and the connecting body panel, in a way that means a bolt is thrown into an appropriate receiving bracket when you lock it with an external key.

A deadlock for your van will be installed carefully in the most appropriate part of the door for the procedure, to ensure greatest degree of security and structural integrity, therefore creating an additional secure locking point in the van door.

A well installed van deadlock will be positioned and fitted in order to create optimal protection against common van-specific attacks.

Securing your van is essential

Securing your van properly is essential for a whole host of different reasons, not only related to ensuring that you have the lowest possible chance of being robbed, but also simply for your peace of mind, and as a way of helping to safeguard your professional future, among other things.

Here are just a few of the benefits of properly securing your van with a van deadlock, as opposed to allowing a situation to develop which results in theft, or some other undesirable mishap as a result of your van’s security mechanisms not being up to the right standard.

A secure van can lead to dramatic improvements for your peace of mind

In life, we all need a certain baseline level of peace of mind in order to prevent us from burning out, breaking down, and simply having a pretty terrible experience on a day-to-day basis, all things considered.

This is as true for your professional life as it is for your personal life, and many entrepreneurs and contractors, in particular, find themselves especially prone to stress, and could really benefit from a number of different approaches and methods for establishing greater degree of well-being.

Even if your van has a decent conventional locking mechanism, a van deadlock can make a tremendous difference when it comes to securing your van, and making it much more difficult for anyone with bad intentions to break into it.

Among other things, having a deadlock installed in your van can really help to enhance your sense of well-being, and to make you feel more comfortable and confident about the basic fact that your van is going to be less vulnerable to break-ins, when it’s parked overnight, or when you have to step away from it for a time during the course of your job.

With the enhanced sense of personal well-being and peace of mind that comes from having a more secure van, you will be in a better position to carry out your work to the highest possible standard, while simultaneously managing to switch off at the end of the day after getting home, in order to relax and spend time on your own hobbies and interests, and with your loved ones.

A secure van can spare you from significant personal and professional loss

The main reason for taking extra steps to secure your van, such as with a deadlock mechanism, is – of course – to ensure that you have the best possible chance of avoiding theft and keeping yourself free of the kind of deep trouble and frustration that can all too easily come about as a result of this.

It hardly needs to be said that having your van broken into and robbed can be a major professional setback, as well as a personal one, too.

Many small business owners and contractors, for example, rely on certain items of highly specialised and expensive equipment in order to do their jobs to the required standard, and if that equipment was left in the back of the van and was stolen overnight or while you were out taking care of a job, it’s possible that you wouldn’t be able to absorb the financial loss directly and would be in real trouble.

Of course, this then leads to other potential losses – such as the loss of your career and the need to move into a new one, and certainly the loss of some good night’s sleep and your overall sense of well-being.

Securing your van can, therefore, be a very powerful way of safeguarding your personal and professional future, as well as taking care of your well-being in the moment.

A secure van is a better investment in your business over time

Depending on what it is you do professionally, and what you use your van for in a specific sense, your van has the potential to be an extremely important component of your business as a whole, as well as being a tool that justifies its own purchase value on a more or less daily basis.

While any van is always going to be an investment in your business over time, a secure van is certainly a better investment than a less secure one, for a number of different reasons.

Most obviously, a more secure van is likely to be more resilient over time, and to provide a higher level of security and stability in your professional life, as opposed to being a source of frustration and potential theft and loss.

For another thing, a more secure van is likely going to fetch a better price if and when you get around to reselling it at any point.

Ultimately, having your van secured to a high standard is going to cost somewhat more upfront, but this is the kind of expense that should be treated as an “investment” in the truest sense of the word, as it can prove to be an invaluable asset over time.
