Short Wheel Base Van

In recent years, vans have experienced a significant increase in market share, with many individuals opting to forego the conventional automobile in favour of a more unique but functional form of transportation. Since 2014, used van sales have been on an increasing trend, and new models are proving equally popular with drivers from a variety of backgrounds and occupations.

The plain fact is that vans address a lot of issues. They can be many things to many people, providing a level of flexibility that other vehicles cannot equal. So when it comes to finding a van for your business, what should you be looking out for?

Short wheelbase vans are the most popular, with many drivers preferring a simple but functional make and model like the Ford Transit Custom SWB. Don't be fooled; bigger vans have a role to play, particularly when it comes to carrying goods – but it's the tiny, tidy, and efficient short wheel base van that is stealing the show for a variety of reasons. Read on to find out more.

Interior Space

It is self-evident that vans are larger vehicles than cars, but what is not often recognized is that this applies not just to exterior size measures, but also interior size measurements. Simply said, they provide a more roomy interior. Just think of the Ford Transit SWB dimensions, and you'll see exactly what we mean.

Furthermore, they provide complete freedom in terms of internal space. You can add chairs, remove seats, attach cages or wall racks, and even make a mobile work area or a mobile bedroom. An SWB transit is the perfect balance, offering more room and the freedom to utilize that space as needed without creating problems in parking lots or under low bridges.

SWB Van Dependability

Vans are built to endure a range of weather conditions, harsh handling, and high loads, thanks to a design based on strength and balance. As a consequence, they're designed to endure and are some of the toughest vehicles in the automotive industry.

That means you'll spend less money on repairs, but we strongly suggest maintaining your vehicle at the recommended intervals, as many minor faults can be identified and resolved at this point before they become more serious. A short wheel base van that is taken care of and maintained well can last for many trouble-free years, allowing you to go about your day-to-day work without any worries.

Security And Safety Features

Vans of all shapes and sizes have additional security measures that go unseen or ignored by automobile drivers. For starters, being in an SWB Transit elevates your driving posture, providing you a better perspective of the road ahead, allowing you more time to adapt your driving to avoid oncoming dangers.

Second, many short wheelbase vans do not have windows in the back or side panels, which is frequently done for advertising purposes but also for additional protection. Because there are no windows, no one can see into the inside. Therefore, as long as you are careful about how you keep items in your SWB van, they will be safer than in a vehicle where everyone who goes by can peek in to see what you have.

Economics

Most people believe that since vans are bigger, they are less economical in terms of fuel consumption and wear-and-tear than cars, and to some degree, this is correct. Many drivers, however, fail to recognize that a completely loaded short wheel base van will be more economical than a fully laden SUV. This is due to the fact that the van is intended to run with a full load and has been optimized to maximize efficiency under such conditions.

So, if you buy a business van and intend to use it as a workhorse, it certainly provides more value for your money. If you are a more casual user, you might discover that it is less affordable at times – but this is unlikely to be the sole determining factor when purchasing a van, so don't let this put you off. Furthermore, since they are regarded as dependable and safe vehicles, compact vans are an excellent bargain in terms of insurance.

High Degrees Of Comfort

It's true that an SWB van can be incredibly comfortable, and they need to be. You may be shocked by this news at first until you realize that van drivers spend the majority of their time behind the wheel. As a result, comfort is a top priority, and manufacturers will often go the additional mile or two with their van designs. As a consequence, many elements are more ergonomic, the interior is more roomy, well-proportioned, and pleasant (consider the Ford Transit SWB dimensions to see what we mean), and the ride is smoother – an unexpected benefit of the enhanced suspension required by weight-bearing vans.

Small Van Practicalities

It may sound paradoxical, but vans are usually easier to get into and out of for individuals with restricted mobility. Traveling by car necessitates lowering oneself into a seat that is about 1ft (0.3m) below you, which can be challenging if flexibility is not your strong suit. Vans, on the other hand, need a step up – and although big vans may necessitate a boost, little SWB vans often just require a short step that you can easily navigate.

Many adapted vehicles are built on short wheelbase van chassis for this purpose, as well as the fact that all that back room is perfect for wheelchairs or other mobility equipment, as well as storing any ramps needed to enter the van.

Even if you are physically fit, vans are a very helpful mode of transportation. Because they are intended to carry large loads, they are useful for transferring goods or moving home. They're an excellent vehicle for taking on vacation since they can accommodate tents, cooking equipment, and all of your personal belongings, as well as bikes and other toys for young children. Smaller vans strike a nice mix between providing a usable cabin while being small enough to drive through towns or in traffic.
